During the tunnel 05 realization – engineering ventilation centre – it had to be solved the intersections of tunnels linking into this tunnel 05. It was not an easy job, because these intersections influenced the concreting process –in this case the tunnel form was not loaded by both sides equally, as in the case of standard concreting of “intact” cross section. The Meccano system allows by its variability react to all construction site requirements, as shown in following examples............... from strengthening the tunnel form in SO 05 by helpful support structure, trough the formwork of starting tunnel segments up to assembling the single-side frames for  face wall formwork....easy and conveniently – only from one system.

1. Intersection of tunnel SO 05 with tunnel SO 06

Subject of supply:
Single-side formwork of the face wall + support structure with formwork of starting segment of tunnel SO 06.

Project description:
The realization of the face wall was realized by three phases. First phase height of 5m included the formwork of the face wall with single-side frames made from Meccano system; the formwork of the curve were solved by adding wooden stencils on these frames, which the Meccano system allows. In next phases the single-side frames were the height assembled on the lower ones and anchored to the anchors prepared in previous concreting phase. Supporting the vault of starting tunnel segment was solved as intermediate, made from Ortho system, which completes both single-side formworks. For the optimization were some parts construction supplied pre-assembled into tunnel, which no doubt led to the increasing the work effectiveness and time savings.

2. Intersection of tunnel SO 05 with tunnel SO 03

Subject of supply:
Single-side formwork of the face wall + tunnel form of starting segment of tunnel SO 03.

Utilized system:
Meccano, Omega

Project description:
The same way as on the opposite side were planned three casting phase. Again the Meccano single-side frames were asserted, used the same solution of the face wall as in the case of linking tunnels on the opposite side – assembling the Meccano single-side trusses on the lower ones and anchoring them to the previous concreting phase. But against this, the formwork of starting segment was solving already as a tunnel form, which with the small modifications was used later for realization of tunnel 03 turn. This all optimized whole building process of this part. No doubt that a lot of time saving brought also the pre-assembling each parts in our warehouse.

3. Intersection of tunnel SO 05 with tunnel SO 04

Formwork of starting segment of tunnel SO 04.

Project description:
This intersection with tunnel SO 04 is the one of the side connections with tunnel SO 05. Against the rest ones, with SO 07 and SO 08, this intersection differs, that it enters into tunnel SO 05 in the lower height level. However this intersection also influences the concreting of tunnel SO 05 in this casting phase, because it causes the asymmetry pouring of fresh concrete. Therefore the tunnel form was locally added by helpful support structures from Meccano system.Moreover, due to the underneath intersection with tunnel 05, tunnel form in SO 05 was forced to cross the temporary bridge for rails.

Therefore the tunnel form was locally added by helpful support structures from Meccano system. Wooden beams were used instead of the Omega beams..
